PIKIRAN RAKYAT - The participation of Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the 2024 Regional Elections has become a constant topic of conversation ahead of the Elections. The reason is, that speculation continues to emerge that his candidacy is again a concrete form of Jokowi's political dynasty.

In response to this, Kaesang's brother, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, emphasized that the move was not part of the political dynasty that is often blamed on Jokowi and his family.

Previously, several political parties had talked a lot about the candidacy of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep. Besides Jakarta, Kaesang is also said to be proposed as a candidate for participation in the Central Java Regional Elections.

Gibran said in Bogor, West Java, that he could only pray that his sister's steps would be untroubled, "Please ask Kaesang (regarding the elections), I wish him the best."

The vice president elected with Prabowo Subianto then said that there is no region that better than each other. Everything is considered good, in Jakarta, Central Java, and other regions in Indonesia.

Gibran then emphasized that in the election, it is the citizens who hold the strongest control. However, the dynamics of political contestants and coalitions are ongoing, and the one who determines victory is still the people.

"In Jakarta, in Central Java, wherever I pray, I pray for the best. But again, the so-called election is the citizens who vote. We will return it to the people to judge," he said.

Kaesang admitted that he talked about the Central Java gubernatorial election with Surya Paloh, the Chairman of the NasDem Party.

It is known that Erina Gudono's husband is indeed being hotly discussed to run as a candidate for the head of the Central Java (Central Java) region in the 2024 Regional Elections. However, Kaesang said that the talk about electoral contestation in Central Java was not discussed too specifically with Surya Paloh. The most talked about, he said, is about contestation in eastern Indonesia.

"There is only a little talk about Central Java. There was no serious talk. We talked more about eastern Indonesia because Mr. Robert is one of the NasDem generals who rule eastern Indonesia," said Kaesang.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the NasDem Faction in the House of Representatives, Roberth Rouw, said that Surya Paloh would support Kaesang if he ran for the Central Java Regional Election. Because Surya Paloh sees great potential in Kaesang to lead Central Java.

"Regarding the issue of the Central Java Regional Elections, our chairman has said that he respects it if Kaesang runs in Central Java.
