Drugs Found in the Body of Deceased Woman in East Jakarta

PIKIRAN RAKYAT -  Police have found drugs in the body of a woman with the initials YY (46) who was found in a boarding house in the Cipayung area of East Jakarta (Jaktim) on Tuesday, 2 July 2024.

This was based on the results of the examination of the victim's organs by the Forensic Laboratory Centre (Puslabfor) at the National Police Headquarters.

"A type one narcotic was found in the body. The name is unfamiliar, but according to the Puslabfor, it is narcotics," said Cipayung Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief AKP Hotman when confirmed on Wednesday 17 July 2024.

Despite the results of the examination of the internal organs of the female victim found decomposing in the bathroom of the boarding house, the Cipayung police investigation continues.

The police also found no signs of overdose or other signs during the crime scene examination (TKP), such as the victim's vomit or foam.

"I don't know if the vomit is gone. Or has it been cleaned up? For example, if she overdosed, there is usually foam, has it been cleaned?" said Hotman.

The death of the woman, known by the initials YY, remains a mystery as the investigation continues.

But so far, detectives from the Cipayung Police Criminal Investigation Department are still looking for other evidence related to the victim's death.

"There are drugs (not poison). There is no poison. There is also no drug residue (and packaging used for drug use), and the crime scene is clean,” said Hotman.

Earlier, police took several samples of the woman's organs with the initials YY to determine the cause of death.

"The examination process is still ongoing, external examination and internal examination to determine the cause of death," Polda Metro Jaya Kombes public relations chief Ade Ary Syam Indradi told reporters on Friday, 5 July 2024.

"There are also some organ samples taken, the victim's organs for further examination," he added.

On Tuesday evening, 2 July 2024, a woman suspected to have the initials YY (27) was found dead in the bathroom of a boarding house in Cipayung district, East Jakarta.

At the time, police were still investigating the scene with members of the East Jakarta Police Identification Team.

During the inspection, a woman's body was found face down and naked in the bathroom,' said Cipayung Police Chief AKP Maryoto.

The body was first discovered by local residents, who smelled an unpleasant odor coming from one of the rooms in the boarding house and reported it to the Cipayung Police on Tuesday, 2 July 2024, at around 5:45 p.m.

Cipayung Police immediately conducted a preliminary identification with Jaktim Metro Police upon arrival at the scene.

“After examining the preliminary identification results, no signs of abuse were found on the victim's body,” said Maryoto.

As a result, his party has not been able to confirm the cause and time of the woman's death, as they are still awaiting forensic results from the Kramat Jati Police Hospital (RS) in East Jakarta. 

“It is still under investigation. No signs of maltreatment, electrocution or other causes have been found. Members also immediately conducted further investigations to unravel this case,” said Maryoto.
