PIKIRAN RAKYAT - A large truck lost control while descending Setiabudi Street in Bandung and crashed into an electricity pole, a tree and the Hoka Hoka Bento security post just before midnight on Monday, 8 July 2024.

"While the victim died, the driver of the truck was himself, a 47-year-old man. The victim is a resident of North Maleer Street, Andir District (Cimahi)," he said when interviewed at the scene on Tuesday morning, 9 July 2024.

Arif added that in addition to the driver, there were two other passengers in the truck.

The first was a 50-year-old man from Mekarsari village and a 56-year-old man from Bojongsoang, Bandung regency.

Arif said the incident started when the truck went downhill from Setiabudi.

"When we arrived at the scene, the truck lost control and veered right up the pavement. It then hit a PLN electricity pole, a tree and the Hoka-Hoka Bento security post," he said.

He added that the police were still investigating the incident. Meanwhile, the law enforcement unit of the Bandung Police Traffic Department is handling the case.

Therefore, Arif also appealed to the public, especially the residents of Bandung City, to drive at an average speed and always be careful and alert.

"I ask you to obey the traffic rules and don't forget to make sure your vehicle documents are in full order to promote road safety. Don't let such incidents happen again," he said.***(Politeknik Negeri Bandung/Ahyaithannisa Taufik)
