Netizens Urge Boycott of Bruno Mars' Jakarta Show

- Bruno Mars will hold a concert in Jakarta in September 2024. Ticket sales opened on Thursday, 27 June 2024. However, many netizens have called for a boycott of American artists in response to Bruno Mars' concert plans in Jakarta.

The boycott movement was triggered by alleged allegations that Bruno Mars supports Israel, a country that colonized Palestine for a long time. The call for boycott is even wilder with the moment of Bruno Mars' concert in Tel Aviv on 5 October 2023. 

The owner of the @2pacshacute account proves that Bruno Mars is pro-Israel. The account also shows an article from The Times of Israel titled "Pop superstar Bruno Mars declares his love for Tel Aviv in First-ever Israel show."

"Guys, he’s a zionist. He said himself that he loves isnotreal (Israel). Please don’t support him," he said.

Bruno Mars held a concert in Israel on 5 October 2023. Almost 60 thousand people welcomed him at Yarkon Park. While greeting his fans, Bruno Mars sang a special song called Ano Ohev Otach (I Love You).

At his solo concert in Tel Aviv, Bruno Mars greeted the audience with the typical Jewish greeting 'Shalom' and also called his fans with shouts of 'calling all my lovelies.'

With the existence of the moments Bruno Mars gave support to the Israelis, calls for a boycott have been increasingly spreading on social media, especially on X, with the hashtag #BoycottBrunoMars trending at number two.

Netizens who support the boycott are asking people not to buy Bruno Mars concert tickets as a form of protest against his support for Israel.

As the promoter of Bruno Mars' concert in Jakarta, PK Entertainment has not yet given an official statement regarding the boycott. However, in a post on social media, they stated that the concert would continue as planned.
