Beberapa film menguasai daftar nominasi Piala Oscar 2022, seperti Belfast, The Power of the Dog, Drive My Car, Licorice Pizza, dan West Side Story. Film-film tersebut selain masuk nominasi film terbaik, mereka juga masuk nominasi penyutradaraan terbaik.

Drive My Car film arahan sutradara Ryusuke Hamaguchi masuk nominasi Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, serta Best International Feature Film.

The Power of the Dog juga turut menguasai nominasi dengan masuk kategori lainnya, seperti Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, dan Best Cinematography.

Kemudian, Spider-Man: No Way Home yang memecahkan rekor sebagai film terlaris keenam sepanjang masa ini juga masuk nominasi Oscar 2022 dalam kategori Best Visual Effects.

Dalam kategori itu, Spider-Man: No Way Home bersaing dengan Dune, Free Guy, No Time to Die, dan Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Pembacaan nominasi Oscar 2022 dipandu oleh Leslie Jordan dan Tracee Ellis Ross pada Selasa (8/2) malam waktu Indonesia.

Sementara itu, Academy Awards ke-94 atau Oscar 2022 akan diselenggarakan pada 27 Maret di Dolby Theatre waktu AS.
