PIKIRAN RAKYAT - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Prabowo Subianto at the Panglima Besar Soedirman National Defence Hospital (RSPPN), Jakarta. Prabowo was under treatment after undergoing surgery.

In his Instagram post, Jokowi revealed a glimpse of Defence Minister Prabowo's condition. He even asked for prayers for Prabowo's recovery after undergoing medical surgery on his left leg.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr Prabowo @prabowo's surgery 1 week ago went well. The medical action to recover from the injury that Pak Prabowo had suffered while serving in the TNI was successfully carried out by a team of doctors and nurses at Sudirman National Hospital," Jokowi said, via his caption, seen Monday, 1 July 2024.

In the post, Jokowi included a photo of himself sitting across from Prabowo Subianto in a room. Three pictures were uploaded, including images of Prabowo sitting and standing while keeping a smile on his face. His physique looks healthy and fit.

As the elected President of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period, aka his successor, next October, Jokowi prayed for Prabowo to recover quickly and be able to carry out his duties after being inaugurated.

"Let us pray for Mr Prabowo's major post-surgery recovery process, so that God willing, he will be more ready to carry out his duties to serve the people of Indonesia," Jokowi said.

Prabowo also welcomed Jokowi very warmly. Wearing red and black striped pajamas, the smiling face of the President-elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo, can be seen.

Apparently, Prabowo, accompanied by his son Didit Hediprasetyo and his personal bodyguard, Major (Inf) Teddy Indra Wijaya, received a direct visit from President Joko Widodo.

President Jokowi was present wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and ordinary shoes to visit his successor.

From his official post, Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude for his surgery, especially to the team of doctors who had worked to perform it.

"Good evening, friends. I thank Allah SWT and the team of doctors, namely Brigadier General TNI Purn Dr. Robert Hutauruk, Colonel Dr. Sunaryo, and Dr. Siska Widayati, assisted by Dr. Thomas, and all nurses and medical personnel at Sudirman National Hospital for the success of the major surgery performed on me," Prabowo said Sunday evening, June 30, 2024.

"Thank you to President @jokowi for providing moral support and prayers," he added.

Prabowo said many people knew he had experienced two parachuting accidents while serving in the TNI in the 80s. Prabowo still feels the injury on his left leg.

For this reason, he is aware and understands that the medical treatment he is undergoing is full of risks and risks of life.

"I assure myself that all of this is for the State and the Nation, I also believe that the team of doctors and all medical personnel who handle it are reliable and professional," he explained.

He added that he was grateful that last week, a team of doctors succeeded in carrying out medical treatment to recover Prabowo's injuries.
