Kini pemberdayaan perempuan sudah menjadi perhatikan global sebagai langkah dalam mencapai kesetaraan gender dan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Sayangnya, di tengah perjalanan panjang sejarah, wanita masih menghadapi diskriminasi dalam berbagai sektor kehidupan, terutama di dunia industri.

Banyak sekali tantangan yang dihadapi oleh para wanita di dunia kerja, mulai dari kesenjangan gaji, kurangnya akses ke peluang pendidikan dan pelatihan hingga membuat wanita sulit untuk naik pangkat, serta norma sosial pun masih sering menghambat wanita untuk terus berkembang di dunia industri.

Kesenjangan itu bisa dilihat berdasarkan hasil Pelatihan Petugas Survei Angkatan Kerja Nasional (Sakernas Februari 2023) yang menyebutkan bahwa Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja (TPAK) pria sebesar 83,98%, sementara TPAK wanita hanya 54,42%. Terlihat dalam data tersebut bahwa rasio keterlibatan wanita dalam ranah kerja jauh lebih kecil daripada pria.

Bahkan, dari jumlah TPAK 54,42%, persebaran tenaga kerja wanita mayoritas berada di sektor informal. Profil Perempuan Indonesia 2022, publikasi oleh Kementerian PPPA dan BPS menunjukkan jumlah pekerja wanita lebih banyak dalam sektor informal dibanding wanita pekerja formal, baik di perkotaan maupun pedesaan.

Adapun jumlahnya di perkotaan sebanyak 53,32% dan pedesaan 76,56%. Di sisi lain, kesempatan wanita untuk bekerja bisa dikatakan masih sedikit dibandingkan dengan pria, hal itu terlampir dalam laporan BPS yang sama (2022) yang menyatakan bahwa jumlah pria yang mengurus rumah tangga sebanyak 3,8 juta orang, sedangkan jumlah wanita hampir 10 kali lipat, atau 36,7 juta orang.

Maka dari itu, dalam rangka mendukung kesetaraan gender, HerStory ingin mempersembahkan apresiasi kepada perusahaan dari berbagai sektor industri sebagai media wanita yang akuntabel melalui program penghargaan Women Empowerment Companies Awards 2023 (WECA) dengan tema “HERitage of Equality”.

Perhelatan “Women Empowerment Companies Awards 2023: HERitage of Equality” ini dibuat HerStory untuk memberikan apresiasi kepada perusahaan yang sudah memberdayakan para wanita. Hal itu karena pemberdayaan bukan hanya sekedar pemenuhan program gender, namun atas dasar kesetaraan, keadilan, dan keterbukaan kesempatan yang tak mengenal jenis kelamin maka dengan bangga HerStory menggelar program ini dengan harapan dapat merangkul potensi penuh para wanita dalam dunia industri dan mengubah paradigma lama menjadi realitas baru yang lebih inklusif dan adil.

Menurut CEO & Founder HerStory, Muhamad Ihsan, ada beberapa penyebab dan aspek terjadinya ketimpangan antara wanita dan pria dalam dunia industri diantaranya berkaitan dengan pandangan tradisional, agama, dan kebiasaan.

"Berbagai faktor menjadi penyebab terjadinya ketimpangan, baik disebabkan oleh pandangan tradisional, agama, kebiasaan, dan berbagai penilaian lainnya yang masih menempatkan perempuan di bawah laki-laki," ucap Muhamad Ihsan, CEO & Founder HerStory saat acara Women Empowerment Companies Awards 2023 (WECA) dengan tema “HERitage of Equality”, Jumat (30/9/2023).

Maka dari itu, agar terbentuknya gender equality, Muhamad Ihsan menyebutkan bahwa ada beberapa prinsip yang menggambarkan wanita bisa sejajar dengan pria yang diantaranya adalah sifat kepemimpinan.

"Di antara lain kita harus mengadakan leadership high level di korporasi agar ada gender equality. Kemudian juga memperlakukan semua gender secara sama, menjamin kesehatan, keselamatan, dan kesejahteraan baik perempuan maupun laki-laki," ungkap Muhamad Ihsan.

"Kemudian, adanya promosi edukasi, pelatihan, dan profesionalisme dalam pengembangan untuk wanita juga mengimplementasikan development perusahaan agar supaya supply chain dalam praktiknya melibatkan dan memperkuat perempuan," ujar Muhamad Ihsan pada kesempatan yang sama.

Selaras dengan hal itu, Menteri Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Indonesia, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmati, pun menyadari begitu kompleksnya masalah kesetaraan gender yang masih dihadapi wanita di Indonesia. Berkaitan dengan permasalahan tersebut, pihaknya meminta para pria dan wanita untuk sama-sama menurunkan ego agar mudah menciptakan lingkungan dengan kesetaraan gender di berbagai sektor kehidupan. Karena menurutnya, wanita yang berdaya itu bisa melindungi anak dan dapat berkontribusi untuk memajukan Indonesia

"Isu perempuan mencakup permasalahan yang kompleks multi sektoral. Oleh karena itu perjuangan kita untuk menuju kesetaraan gender harus masif lagi. Dengan demikian dalam momentum yang baik ini, saya mohon dukungan dari semua yang hadir untuk ikut serta dalam perjuangan ini, mari kita bergandengan tangan untuk mengesampingkan ego masing-masing dan menatap satu tujuan bersama-sama, dunia yang setara bagi perempuan dan laki-laki," tutur Menteri PPPA dalam acara yang sama.

Menteri PPPA itu pun sangat mendukung adanya Women Empowerment Companies Awards 2023 “HERitage of Equality” sebagai langkah untuk mendorong program pemberdayaan agar bisa berdampak baik terhadap kesetaraan gender di Indonesia.

"Hadirnya award ini merupakan langkah strategis untuk mendorong dunia usaha dan organisasi memngembangkan program pemberdayaan yang semakin akuntabel. Tentu hal ini akan berkontribusi besar dalam meningkatkan potensi perempuan. Oleh karena itu semangat untuk penerima penghargaan semoga hal ini bisa menjadi motivasi untuk terus meningkatkan karya karya yang berdampak pada Indonesia," pungkas Menteri PPPA.
